I hope I'm doing this right, this is my first forum. Took me 25 minutes to figure this much out.
I came across this site while I was looking for Dan Wesson "stuff". I recently inherited my grangfathers Dan Wesson. He died many years ago, my Dad just figured it was time to pass it on. I was beginning to think I was going to have to wait for him to die, too. I looked around a little and decided "what the hell", and signed up. As best I can figure, given the information you folks have herein, I have a pretty 'plain Jane' Monson, Mass. Model 15-2, S/N 963XX. I think I saw a place on the site to enter that in for somebodies record keeping. Nice to know some one does that, like they do with the old muscle cars.
My grandfather was a bit of an amateur gunsmith and a big handloader. I have his reloading equipment also. I have no idea how many thousands of rounds he put through this pistol, but he was an avid shooter. Dad kept it in the closet mostly except during hunting season. He's taken two deer with it. He also put a hand carved grip on it. Might try my hand at whittling one for myself as his doesn't fit me as well as I would like. I've shot it a bit, and it's still a great shooter. I already checked out the EWK Arms website and seen a few things I want, I just have to remeber to pace my expenditures for my wifes sake. Speaking of the better half, I have a short video of her shooting it I've entitled "Lady Tames the Fire Breathing Dragon". It was late in the afternoon and you can really see the blast. Not sure if there is a way to put it up or not but I'll try.
Well, I figured that much out. I'm looking forward to investigating things here, hopefully I'll find some more good info.
Welcome...we are practically neighbors, I'm in Florida.
Nice of you to share you DW story with us. Many of us come from shooting families and
I personally like to hear these related narratives. Keep us apprised of your reloading and shooting progress.
If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
