Well I finally got my Dan Wesson barrel pac today!  Bought it while visiting New Hampshire and had to have it shipped to Texas.  It is a 15-2 VH with 4 barrels.  Supposedly a guy bought it put it in his safe and never fired it.  Dont see any marks on it, not even drag marks!  Not sure when it was made yet but Ill be looking into that soon.  Going to polish it up and can't wait to get out to the range and give it a try.

Welcome to the DWF Sign labelleb.  You have an excellent start on your DW family. It looks superb. Where were you in NH when you found it. I use to live in Nashua back in the 80's, before Dan's.

Post some close-up Cool Pics when you get it all polished and thanks for the pic of your PAC!

Welcome to the DWF Sign labelleb.  You started off right.  A nice classic VH pistol pack with Zebras attached.  That is a foundation piece for a disease that is attached to that revolver somewhere.  It is called DWAS and most every DW owner falls victim to it in some degree.  You'll figure it out once you get it to the range.  See acronym list to the right if you want to know what you are in forBig Grin

Thanks guys!  I found it in Salem New Hampshire.  I was up bringin my kids back to the ex and had time to kill so I popped into this little shop right on Main st (only 100 yards from Massachusets where you can't even THINK about buying thislaughing)  It was just sitting on the bottom shelf amongst a bunch of other guns.  He was asking $1000 so I offered him $1200 all in for the Dan Wesson and a Ruger LCP for the wife.  Took him about 5 seconds and said ok.  Took me 3 weeks to get the shipping and everything else done lol.

As for the disease, I think I picked up while at the shop.  I only started shooting about a year and a half ago (grew up in Canada) and this now makes firearm #14.  I didn't even get this one home and Im already looking at a DW 44 Mag for me and a DW 22LR for my son......the sickness continues.

Ill get some more detail pics up soon.  There hasnt been a round threw it so cleaning was just prints mostly and dust.  Only issue is some of the bluing went a plum color on the frame.  But heck Im sure it still shoots the same Mini Gun

BTW is the zebra grip not a normal thing with the pacs?  I hadn't seen too many come with 3 and fit wise its about the same as the other wood grip.

That's kinda sad, if you ask me. I mean these guns were BORN in Massachusetts & the anti-gunner jerks have made it so folks can't even buy guns that were made in their own state.Frown Freedom Arms guns even have a big stamp across the front of their boxes, saying "not for sale in Mass."Screwy

Anyway, Welcome aboard & congrats on your PP score!occasion  I believe that all Pacs were shipped with one extra grip & a buckle, patch, extra sights & tools. The zebra grip (or one of the others) may have been added separately, at a later date.

You did great for your first one, in fact, it would be hard to top that in anyones collection. Welcome to the DWF.

BTW-If there is any paperwork in that Pack that identifies a production date (year, actually) or the original sale date, that would be great information for our Serial Number Registry, there is a link to that on the Forum sidebar.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to DWF Sign

That is a great way to start, with a nice pistol pac like that. Now you will need to start adding other Dan Wessons. The road is slippery...

Welcome Bryan,

My first Dan Wesson purchase was a model 15 PP as well.  From then on it's been a steady ride on DWAS.

You've been warned Big Grin

I looked quickly for a serial number and date but the sticker on the side of the case was pretty worn.  Ill  see if I can find anything.  Havent taken the case apart yet so Im not sure if there is something else under the foam etc.  It starts with 357 something so Im thinking early 80s.

Thanks all for the warm welcome

Good news.  Went digging under the egg crate stuff and I found the original letter from Dan Wesson that came with the pistol when it shipped so I can accurately date it.  The letter from the factory is dated April 1, 1983 (not sure I like the idea it was April Fools day!). Also had the owners manual and a mini catalog for Dan Wesson gear with realllly bad 80s pictures lol2  Remember big hair? The serial is 358756 and Ill add it to the registry.
