Hey ya'll!

I'm a guy who's very first gun ever was a Dan Wesson 15-2V .357 mag with a 6" barrel and target grips back in about 1976. I put about 3000 rounds thru this revolver and loved it….basically a tack driver with all the power and precision one could ever want. Sadly, I had to pawn my original revolver back in about 1980 for money to pay the rent.

I always loved the gun and dreamed of owning another with a ventilated heavy barrel but it never came to be.

Skip forward 35 years…now I'm a field service engineer for an AV systems integrator and, while I'm not rich, I have all that I need. My Father in Law purchased a Dan Wesson 15-2VH (I always wanted the heavy ventilated shroud) shortly before his recent death and I have inherited it complete with 4" and 6" barrel, tools, feeler gauge, and box. I'll post the serial number and pictures later. I'm thrilled as my FIL and I talked some time ago about the gun and the fact that I always regretted having lost my original.

The gun is virtually unfired and in perfect condition…no rust, no loss of blue or issues at all. I'm stunned that he loved me enough to purchase this revolver and leave it to be mine. Needless to say I'm looking for a 2" barrel and shroud and a 8" barrel and shroud and some better grips and intend to shoot this Bad Boy in his honor at the earliest convenience being as there is an indoor pistol range 6 blocks from my home.

I'm proud and pleased to be here and thanks in advance for any advice or help you can offer me! I'm back in the Dan Wesson Family after 35 years and thank you. Paul, for reviving my interest in hand gunning.

Welcome to the DWF.

Don't forget to post those pics.

As noted, Eric at EWK Arms makes gorgeous parts.  However, if you want factory original, look on gunbroker.com there are always plenty of barrels for a 15-2.

Enjoy your inheritance.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.
