Wow, I didn't think I would hear from this many Pennsylvanians! Where do you guys shoot? I am a member at Hereford Gun Club and Ontelaunee if anyone is interested in getting togethor sometime to shoot. I found my 15-2 at the Cabelas in Hamburg for $450. My revolver is in almost new condition w/ not one scratch or ding which I could almost not believe! It even came w/ the orignal box and barrel tool/spacer! I got to shoot it today w/ some Winchester 38 special +P and all went well and It shot like a dream! I purchased my revolver for deer hunting, target shooting, and possibly ICORE. Does anyone out there use their D.W. for ICORE? PS..You guys have some sweet looking D.W.'s!

I shoot at Alburtis Gun Club and Guthsville Gun Club. Guests are allowed at Guthsville. We have to get together when the snow stops……..
I'll bring along a Super Mag for you to try.
My son is into Dans also as are his two girls, 6 and 8.
That was a pretty price on your first 15-2. You know about don't you?

Welcome to DWF! I'm not from PA, but i have been to Cabela's in Hamburg a few times. When my son was stationed in Philadelphia, he would drag us there when we went to visit. He pretty near lived in that place on weekends. I find my local Cabela's to be a little clueless on some pricing of used guns, but you got a pretty fair deal, I think.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the forum.
I have been trying to shoot ICORE. It is a lot of fun, but its hard to compete ( at least at my club) as they allow 8 shot smiths shooting 380's... plus they use moon clips. Generally moons clips require you to have the cylinder cut down, so I have even procured a spare one.. but havent done anything with it yet.
My dan and I do keep up well with the longer shots.. but I get killed if I miss even one (reload time). We also do Renegade Steel, also fun.. well until you hit that Texas star!!!

What is ? Are there any competitions that the Dan Wesson is more suited for? Sounds like ICORE is too fast paced for a 6-shot. Nice dusting of snow this morning in Eastern Pa....no range today I am going to start reloading asap and was wondering where you local guys shop for supplies? I like the Golden Trigger in Emmaus the best but was wondering if there is a hidden gem I didn't know about.

DWAS = Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome
I would not want to disuade you from at least giving ICORE a chance, a club about 150 miles north of me does NOT allow anything but 6 shot revolvers. So its not a given. Basically, do whats fun, and realize they have to have numbers (people) to support the event. Which is why ours opened up. I love shooting steel.

Ha I just visited the local web site and they had this posted:
ICORE Match At Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club This Sunday, March 27th…
by Cliff Cargill Today at 5:07 am
This Sunday morning (March 27th) the Magnolia Rifle And Pistol Club will have the monthly ICORE match:Set-up – 7AM
Shooter's meeting – 8:45
Match Starts – 9AM
Cost- Free for first timers, $15 for match fee, $10 for members of Team Magnolia.
Match: ICORE is somewhat like a USPSA, but not as complicated and is a little more straightforward when it comes to the designs of the courses. Easier to understand, if you will. Still a lot of fun, but perfect for the new shooter.
Equipment: Revolvers with at least 4 speedloaders/moonclips. Sturdy belt and holster that covers the triggerguard. Eye and ear protection and 125 rounds of ammunition.
New shooters can shoot a semi. You'll need 4 extra magazines.
There is some semi and revolver loaner gear available. PM me for details.
Don't be shy. If you've ever wanted to try your hand at a pistol competition, this is the place to do it. We'll help you get started, so come on!
See you there!
Cliff..
2 shooting boxes
5 pieces of steel counting 1 popper that is crossed for tie breaker
We will have Open and Limited to start. We may have side matches down the road for .22's.
We will do elimination by best 2 out of 3. Once a shooter has 3 losses on their card they don not advance. We will establish classes as the program advances. We'll use known ability and will look at classifications from other shooting sports like USPSA and ICORE and will handicap accordingly. In other words, if a newer shooter is going against a more experienced one they'll have to knock down fewer targets.
This is drag racing with guns! It's the most fun I've ever had and a hoot to just watch.
$5.00 entry fee and the match is 4th Saturday of every month. Matches willl start in the 8:30 to 9 range..
