Hello fellow Dan Wesson forum users I've been into guns for years and haven't really aquired the itch for pistols until recently. My first purchase was the Coonan .357 1911 style pistol followed up by my everyday carry gun a S&W 340PD .357 (Now you know my favorite caliber haha) Anyhow you guys look like a great bunch of folks I'd like to chat with. I really love the way a Dan Wesson is laid out me being a lefty I love how the latch for the cylinder release is up front and easy to reach for my grip style. One of these days I'd love to have a collection of Dan Wesson revolvers for my weekly outings the models I've been looking at are the 740-738p-722-715 and the model 714 or the blued 14. I'm digging the pictures you show on here there are some fine revolvers you have. Have a great day to anyone who reads this post.
Doug.

Doug, welcome to DWF and thanks for the intro. Just out of curiosity, whereabouts in Michigan? I'm originally from Farmington, and still have family in MI
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome from Florida. They don't stay in the gun shops long here. Everyone puts them on Gunbroker. A little advice. When ejecting cases keep the gun tilted to the left and your index and middle finger of your left hand through the frame and pushing against the cylinder. The cylinder has a propensity to close while the extractor is extended and the rachet will scratch the sideplate and gouge the back of the recoil shield. Almost all used small frames have these scratches. By the time you figure it out it is too late. Smiths and Colts don't seem to close up so easily. It has been cold here in North Central Florida lately, not reaching 60 some days. Still just a few Sub 32 nights though. Haha, another reason to move to Florida. The best reason is perhaps out extremely great gun laws.

Family lived in Petoskey for many years, spent much time there. Nothing beats Northern Michigan summers.

I have not bought a gun in several years, and actually sold off a few DW's in the past few years. There is one local shop that sometimes has them, I'll check with them this week for you.

Welcome Doug. I, too, am from MI originally. Now live in TX where it takes about 10 minutes to make a firearms purchase and I don't have to shovel that evil white crap.
Don't let my brother Steve fool you for one minute. If he goes for a week without cruising the LGS he has to go on meds....

if you find one...what's your plan?
