Hi Yinz guys. Long time lurker here on the site so figured I'd finally register and no longer be that creepy guy in the corner at the dance. After shooting a DW somewhat recently, I've now got the bug and am in search of a 715, or at least a nice 15-2, so feel free to help me lose my DW virginity. Thanks all.

Welcome to DWF. Great place for the DW freaks.... We have some on for sale once in a while. The hunt is a fun part of DW ownership. Check the auction sites and gun shops., maybe even a gun show, they'll turn up. If you like the wheel guns, I promise you will not be disappointed in the Dan Wesson Revolver. Good luck wth the search and again Welcome, from the Bluegrass...

Welcome to DWF!
Unless you are otherwise inclined (caliber wise), a 15-2 or 715 in .357 is probably the best entry level to get started with.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome from PA! I don't want to hijack your thread but I just listed a very nice 715 for sale on gunbroker today. Got to thin the heard a bit to pay some bills and the like. Here is the auction if interested.

Be warned, buying one Dan WILL lead to buying more, Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome is very addictive.

Welcome to the forum from N TX. Steve is right. 715 or 15-2 are perfect to get you addicted to Dans. I prefer the 715...but then I'm a sucker for shiny stuff!

Thanks for the replies. Nice 715, Scorpio, but I fear that on GB it will quickly escalate out of my price range. I've seen some nice 715's on Armslist, but all are out of state with the seller unwilling to ship. Most site "not sure of the legality", which is sad/frustrating because it's not really difficult or time consuming to drop at a FFL shop and have them ship to my FFL shop. I'm obviously with you, Brucertx, the stainless definitely catches my eye. Plus I think it (finish) just hold up better as I am a shooter, not a safe queen collector. But the 15-2 does have a nice luster to it. Back to work for me, thanks for the welcomes everyone.

Matt, I would just keep watching that 715, don't give up too quickly, BUT a 715 that clean will not sell for a stupid low number either. Armslist seems like such a snake pit, I'd never buy there, but I've only ever bought one gun online (GunBroker). With that one exception, I've bought every one of 20+ guns locally, hands on.

Welcome from South Carolina. Haunt the pawn shops, that's where I just found one about a month or so ago.
