Greetings DW lovers
I found this forum while looking for info on a piece I saw today. It was love at first sight, but I thought it was a little pricey.
It was tagged Model 715, but was blued. I have since learned the "7" in "715" means stainless. Beautiful bluing job though. It was a 6" vented rib, no extra barrels, had tool and instructions no box. They wanted $549. Seemed steep, I'm still tempted though. It just felt "right". Is it worth it?

MotownStan. Glad you looked up the DW Forum. You're right on the model number. The price does seem a little high average; I'd expect more like 450 to 475 for the model you describe. It was a "light" vented barrel shroud? Was the grip the plain wooden one or maybe a Zebra grip or even a Hogue rubber one? Did it have an adjustable rear site?
Anyway the model 15 is a good start on the road to a DW collection.
What other guns do you / have you had? Any would be great!
Looks like you are member no. 997...........almost 1000 in the ranks!

Welcome to DWF, lot's of new Michigan guys lately. The price seems high, but a pretty smart guy here regularly reminds us not to confuse price with value. Sounds like it may be worth it for you.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I agree, I'd try to talk the guy down by at least $50. In the end though, a gun's value is only what a buyer is willing to pay. If the gun looks as great in person as you're saying & you have the money, then why not?
If it makes you feel any better, I often over pay for my guns...most of the reason for that is that I had the money at the time & didn't want to continue looking. But I'm always glad I got 'em & don't plan on selling.
to the, let us know how you make out.

Motown Stan, Maybe by now your a new DW owner, if not I am sure you will be if you hang around here. The guys have given you all the feedback on the gun your looking at. Hopefully you'll arrive at a decision you can live with, and then share the PICS with us

Welcome Stan!
Nice way to start a Dan Wesson collection. Even if the price seems high, if you're willing to pay it, then it is a good deal. I know I've paid more than some of my guns should have been worth, but I wanted them and I was glad I did. Nice favorites you have there.

Well, I couldn't get the store to budge on the price of that Dan Wesson, so I remembered I saw a nice S&W Highway Patrolman, pinned and recessed at the range last week. I stopped in and it was still there. The guy there was willing to talk business, so I got it for $400 with a month of free range time. I hope you nice fellas don't ban me.

Well we all can't be shoot and score amazing deals! But we can say congrats on the new purchase and the range time nothing wrong with that. Besides you can always trade that one in for a nicer Dan Wesson later on.
