Hello all. Just joined the forum.
Looking forward to good conversation and great information from others smarter then myself (that should not be hard at all)
I am here in the Piedmont of NC, just on the border of NC/VA. In fact, I am so close to the border that I do my shopping in VA all the time except to buy my handguns!

Hi Mike.
I was just at the Greensboro Gun Show Sunday. It is about an hour and half from the house.
I wish I had the Dan Wesson. Just posted on another thread. you can read it at "Discontinued CBOB in 2010".
I am in process right now looking for the CBOB or the new V-BOB when it come in!

to the forum!
I think Collector's has a couple of BOBs, one 45ACP and one 10mm. Prices are high though.

I know what you mean. CZ seems to be moving the Dan Wesson 1911 pistols up the dollar scale. I don't know if this is simply a matter of economics, an attempt to greater differentiate Dan Wesson from other CZ pistols, or to compete in a more prestigious market. Past demand for DW 1911 pistols has displaced CZ's ability to manufacture our coveted revolvers. Maybe moving the pistols into a more costly market will slow demand enough to allow CZ to devote man power to bringing the revolvers back to market. Whatever their motives, we can be sure our future monetary costs will be high.

I personally think that part of it is due to the fact that everywhere I go on a forum, you see nothing but the highest prase for the CBOB now. You can't tell me that CZ is not listening to this. They can only take it for what it's worth and raise the price as high as the cheers for the weapon goes.
I could be wrong, but I feel there is a lot to learn from that.
If you had a product that everyone was raving about, would you still charge the small amounts of money, or would you raise the price to fatten the pocket? As the saying goes, "strike while the irons are hot"!

I can see that S&W is doing exactly what you talking about. One only needs to look at the escalating prices of the J-frame revolvers, S&W's hottest selling handgun. The AirLite Ti models were selling for ~$600 four years ago, now they are listing for just under a grand.
CZ needs to be careful with raising prices too high in a down economy. We sure don't want Dan Wesson's bankruptcy history to repeat itself.
