Hello from VA:
I decided to join this forum after purchasing a DW 41V. I am a fan of the 41 magnum and I think I found the ultimate platform to shoot my favorite round accurately.
In the past, I was turned off to Dan Wesson. Mostly because of the aesthetic garishness of that protruding barrel nut found in the early models (actually, it was as a result of discussing this with another gun enthusiast who had chimed in on his opinion and I adopted this viewpoint without giving it much thought). Actually, I should have known better. My earliest view of my first Dan Wesson was a 357 Magnum revolver that a police cadet in training was using back in the early 1980s. I think it was the earliest of the series that didn't have that barrel nut extending beyond the end of the barrel. It had that vent heavy full underlug shroud. I thought then it was the most beautiful revolver only to be rivaled by the Colt Python.
Now my tune has changed and I now have many regrets at turning up my nose at a fine revolver. Chances are, I might have owned several of these Dan Wesson wheelguns by now had I not been poisoned by that unfair observation I discussed earlier.
Thanks. DW41fan
Soon to be going to Ybor City, Florida.
Welcome to the forum! Seems like more and more folks are getting interested in DW's based on the prices they bring on GunBroker.
The 41 isn't very common so congrats on your purchase! We have several members here that love the 41 mag so you are in good company.
Hope you enjoy the forum!

I am one of those members who loves the .41 Magnum.
Welcome to Tell us more about your 41V. I picked up my first DW in .41 Magnum back in 1990, a stainless 6" VH. It is a gun that goes with me to every range outing. I have several Dan Wessons in .41 Magnum, along with other guns in the same caliber.
What is the allure of the .41 Magnum? Lots of folks use them because they shoot flatter than a .44 Magnum with a bit less recoil. It is a very accurate cartridge. Plus, I've always liked things that are off the beaten path, and the .41 fits right in there. Here's my first one.

Welcome to the Forum and to the DWs. I am a relative newbie to the Forum, but no stranger to the Dans. I see that so far no one has cautioned you about this disease. It has struck me 27 times now.
You will love Ybor if you like to party. Fridays and Saturdays are much like Georgetown on Halloween. You will also find a few Forum members here in Florida, with a couple in the Tampa area, myself included.
Enjoy
