Hi everybody. I just found this forum, and am pleased to see it is quite nice and informative.
I am regular guy in his 50's and own only one Dan Wesson. From what I could gather reading through many posts here, my revolver is a Dan Wesson 44-10V. I hope that is correct. I have no pics as of now (seems shameful). I purchased the revolver about 15 years ago, after being encouraged to join a nearby silhouette club. The revolver is in nice shape, but came with what looks like an aftermarket Hogue grip and nothing else. I have had a buddy use his wrench to remove the shroud, check and clean the unit, and replace properly with a gauge to 0.006. I need to get off my butt and order a wrench (or make on?) The revolver shoots mostly well. Mostly. 🙁
Occasionally the revolver will surprise me by having the hammer fall on an already fired cylinder. By that I mean, I always pull back the hammer and squeeze the trigger, but very rarely it seems that the cylinder moved and I dropped the hammer on a spent case. It is an odd surprise, to say the least. I still love the revolver though. a local smith created a stronger hand spring, but the problem persists. Maybe I am limp-wristing it. ha, ha.
By the way, the revolver looks quite nice. I have no idea how old it is though. It has a serial number of 004###, which seems low, but what do I know. 🙂 It is a Monson make.
Oops, too long an introduction. It's a pleasure to have found this place.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
