Evening everyone.
I am a conservative blue collar X military divorced family man.
I'm looking for my first and one and only 9mm pistol for home self defense and possibly CC or OC, and liked how a single stack 1911 fit my small hand compared to the large and powerful double stack SW45 I almost scored sharp shooter with in boot camp.
I have a few questions about the TCP which is one of two DW pistols available locally. The closest commercial range I have is 45 minutes away, but they don't have any 1911's in stock. So following my criteria of 9mm full size single stack pistol leaves me with only two options locally.
Anyway, thanks for having me and please forgive my ignorance as I'm new to this.

Okay, then let's start with the other DW pistol available to you locally. What is it ?
BTW - even though we enjoy the Dan Wesson brand, that does not mean we are complete fanboys who believe their idol cannot make any wrong. On the other hand, we deal with each problem systematically, to resolve ... because when everything is correct, the Dan Wesson handgun has few equals or betters.

Welcome to the forum. 9mm 1911s are fun to shoot. Much less recoil than 45acp. I don't have a 9mm Dan but I have 2 RIA 22TCMs. One has the 9mm barrel in it. The 22TCM is very similar to a 5.7. 2000 feet per second. Comes with both barrels.

Thanks.. I dismissed the other DW PM9 because of its length.
I'm not questioning DW's reputation.. I'm questioning if I can get 500 rounds through the TCP, or if I had to return it would I have it back by my end of august deadline as I think S might HTF around that time. I'm overwhelmed with the time and patience it requires. Almost like buying a puppy and the time and patience needed to train it. lol.
This is a bad time to be shopping for a pistol because I can barely get my hands on any 9mm full size single stack, let alone test fire it. Will I even be able to find and buy rounds? Should I order a G48 and hope I get it soon? At least I already have a benelli nova for home SD.

You should check out Gunbroker.com. The best way to buy guns and get a deal. And ammo. You can buy large lots for a better price. Hollow points are going to be expensive though.
Maybe you should buy a used gun. The break-in period may have passed on someone else's dime. Usually the more custom or semi custom a 1911 is the longer the break-in period.
