Like so many others I was surfing the web and found this site. I bought a .357 pistol pack back somewhere in the mid 70's and shot a boatload of rounds through it over the years. I started having light strike problems with it and my tastes in handguns started leaning towards the 1911 platform. So years go by with the DW stored away.
I started thinking about this pistol again and took it to a gunsmith that had done a bang up action job on a S&W I was trying to get the wife intersted in. As good as he was with the S&W, I don't like what he has turned the DW into. I am hoping that with information I gather at this forum I will get it handling like I remember.
I can already thank you guys for how motivated I am!

Welcome!
Yikes! Its not like a 15-2 is very complicated. Well tell us what ails her and pictures are always good. If its more than a simple fix, and light strikes can be... Good ole DW can fix it for you.

Thanks for the welcome! The bottom line is that the pistol still does not light off all rounds I fire using double action. However it does fire each round when using single action. The rest is subjective; all I know is that the action is just different and I don't mean in a good way.
I do not believe that he replaced any springs so I have ordered a set from Brownells and following the steps laid out in this forum will change them out. Today I took the side cover off for the first time then took the cylinder apart because it didn't free wheel as nice as before. Cleaned that up as it sure was a mess and it's good to go. I'll have to take pictures of the internals. I can see bright spots that have been worked on and don't believe they correspond with those worked on in the write up.
It's a start anyways!
