Welcome to DWF. I just ran a quick search on DWF for "High Standard Sentinel" and got 2900+ hits. My guess is that we can help out with questions, and we love to see pictures, feel free to post up a picture or two of your Sentinel.
This is a link to John Stimson's High Standard site, he is an authority on all things High Standard. You might enjoy poking around there too.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome, and congratulations on inheriting your High Standard and my condolences for the passing of your father. I have several MK ii and MK iii. They are virtually identical to a Dan Wesson 14-1 and 15-1. The grips have a different medallion and often have grooves on the back strap. The shroud of a HS has the name roll marked on the shaft. All parts are interchangable with a Dan Wesson. Unfortunately, High Standard cataloged other barrel lengths but never sold any, but a Dan Wesson 14-1 barrel assembly will work. Keep your index and middle finger extended through the frame pushing against the cylinder when ejecting cases to prevent the extractor star from scratching the sideplate. I suspect Dan Wesson sold their left over porkchops to High Standard to make way for the Model - 2. I guess they didn't have any extra shrouds left over. That is just speculation on my part. I bet you could sell the Barrel assembly for almost as much as the whole gun. They are made of unobtainiun.
