I just bought my first DW at an auction, was not easy to find one here in Austria!

Seems to be an 715 Fixed Barrel, marked P1040680.JPGImage Enlarger

P1040679.JPGImage Enlarger
Palmer S004209

ok, cleaned and checked trough and now I am wondering about the two screw holes without screws on the barrel, are missing these screws or was the any assembly?

I have already searched in the forum and on pictures, but unfortunately nothing similar was found

Not positive but I believe they were for a scope mount.  Welcome to the Forum from Wisconsin!

Welcome to DWF, thanks for the introduction. Those screw holes are likely aftermarket additions/modifications

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome from Pennsylvania!  The guys have it right, those screw holes are for a scope mount.  I think a scope on such a short barrel would be a bit unbalanced but that could be preference.

Could you tell us what gun laws are like in your country?  It's always very interesting to hear how different things are in Europe vs the US. Hand guns seem like a difficult item to possess in a lot of European countries.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Welcome from Pittsburgh, PA! I'm looking forward to reading about the gun laws you have over there.

as promised a small abstract:

if you are over 18 years old can buy normal rifles and shotguns, three days of cooling down if you like buy something. But everything must be registered in the Central Arms Register.

For Handguns you will need a special permission, first a course and a psychotest, and if positive you will get the permission to own a maximum of two firearms. Very difficult to get an expansion to five even when you are a sport shooter!

I have a hunting license, so I do not have to do it, but the hunting license here is also like an evening school over three months, not really easy!

The permission to carrry a weapon is almost impossible, also an acute problem for hunters during the search, e.g. on wild boar!

Automatic rifles, Pumpguns, Silencers are forbidden, semiautos like AK15 or AUG will take a place on the handgun license!

And on top, we have very restricted shooting ranges, times and so on! The country is densely populated, so we have noise and security problems!

Thanks for the summary! I think I shuddered a little when I read "Central Arms Register".

Psychotesting sounds interesting. I think that should be mandatory for anyone occupying a political office. Of course, I would want to write the tests myself to be sure it wasn't biased in any way, haha.
