I've been on here since 2012 but thought it time I post something ... Finally... I'm in Az and custodian to 3 15-2's one a complete pistol pack (standard vent.) in the brown case, one a Vent Heavy I added three more vent heavy barrels and shroud assemblies from EWK to make a second 2.5, 4, 6, & 8" pistol pack and a third standard Vent.
Well, I just got a Barney'ed Dan in .22LR with a 6" Vent heavy, but it had a buggered barrel nut!!!
Well after searching through all of your posts on the subject, I learned that a lot of Kroil oil, a Bar Clamp, an EWK Barrel tool, an old penny, plus heat from a soldering iron and some serious patience works! I got it off finally!
I'm feeling very pleased with myself and have to thank you all for this wealth of knowledge you share.

Reading about these stuck barrel nuts has me paying extra attention to cleaning and maintenance. That .22 is lucky to have found you as a friend. 🙂

The DW .22LR with a 8" tube and my VH shroud from my DW 15-2 P-Pac. shot a 1/3" hole with 6 rounds @ 10 yards (Measured) off the bench at Tucson Rifle Club yesterday.
I will be using anti-seize on all my barrel threads and hope to never deal with a stuck Barrel nut again. Thanks Guys!
