New guy here! I've been shooting off and on since I was a kid plinking sticks in a creek. I've done some very amateur gunsmithing with long guns, and I just enjoy the hobby all around. My first CCW was a Ruger LCRx (exposed hammer) snubby in .38 spl. I sold it several years back to get a P365 shortly after they hit the market. While I love my P365 a lot, I REALLY miss the little snubby Ruger wheel gun. There was just something about it. So I had been wanting another revolver ever since, preferably in a larger size and in 357 mag (for more ammo options).

Fast forward to this year, and sadly, my wife's uncle passed away. He was a noted gunsmith in Indiana with great credentials and magazine articles about his custom work. Over 300 firearms of his were just auctioned, and I won his DW model 15 blued, six inch revolver. Of course I've never owned a Dan Wesson before, and I instantly fell in love with it.

I don't know much about my particular piece, so I'm joining this forum to learn and share what I can. I also just need practical info like maintenance advice, what kind of OWB holsters should work well, things like that.

I'm planning to post some pics in the Revolver forum and see what I can learn, with the welcomed help of this community!

Welcome to the DW Forum. I got my first DW several years ago and fell in love with them. I now have several and love shooting all of them. My favorites are the 744s and 741s.  big-grinbig-grin

You are in big trouble now. It is called Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome, or DWAS for short. Very similar symptoms to Firearms Acquisition Syndrome.

Welcome from a fellow newbie! My 6" 15-2 was one of the best handling, most accurate revolvers I owned. Looking forward to seeing pics!
