In late January I decided to shop for a .357. The market's good for revolvers with the big push to buy black semi-autos.  I found a dozen SW's available in the $500 - to $600 dollar range but I was looking for a bargain.  I watched the local listings for a week or so when on a Sunday afternoon a DW 15-2VH 6inch showed up 2 miles from me. Not knowing much about them I quickly checked GB for values then 10 minutes later found your forum and EWK.  I was hooked.

An hour later I had a nice 15-2 Monson Serial#  77*** with original grips and Grippers.

Here's the great part.  That evening around 9pm another DW 15-2 V 6 inch Monson serial # 137*** with original grip and grippers showed up a few hundred miles north.  Two phone calls to arrange for a trucker friend to handle the pickup and two days later I had another.

The timing was perfect and a quick email to Eric at EWK gave me a heads up on that last batch of barrel assemblies.  I was able to order a 2.5" and 4" when that last batch became available a few days later. Add EWK sights and tools, speed loaders and a great Alaskan made holster(local pawn shop finds)   for carrying in the plane, hiking, snow machine, etc............

About the guns.  I hunted caribou with a revoler in the 80's but switched to a black 10mm as my carry gun in the Supercub in the 90's.  I hoped it would be adequate for caribou hunting but the 75+ yard accuracy just isn't there.  These DW's definitely have it.  The 6 inch barrels are great and after putting the EWK 4" on the other day the accuracy remains just as good.  I'm impressed!!

The DWF is my evening reading now.  Thanks to all of you and hopefully I can contribute  a bit in the future. Let me know if you need any Alaska info.  I've been here 30 years and have hunted/fished and flown a good part of the state.

I'll post some pics if I can figure out how.

Welcome to DWF, you definitely have the Fever.

Our son is in the Coast Guard and has said very clearly that at some point in time he will be doing an Alaska tour. Lots of USCG guys feel that Alaska is a "must do" at some point in their career.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to DWF from Wyoming.  That 4 inch EWK barrel looks awesome!
