New to forum, older to planet Earth... I'm 62. Proud owner of 745, tired of not seeing the Dan listed at reloading sites. Would like to hear if anyone knows how the 745 compares to Ruger and T/C as most sites list them separately. I have to believe the Dan can handle those loads just fine.

Welcome to the forum.
The holster and grips look really nice on your 745. Thanks for starting with a picture. We love em. What size barrel do you have on there? Looks like it could be a 4" or 6".
With the size and strength of the Dan Wesson I would use the Ruger & T/C data from the load books. If you load from a T/C only section you won't be able to match the velocities out of a revolver.

Thanks for the welcome.... and your suggestion of the load starting point.
The barrel is a 4" VH, and when I placed the original order in 2001, I had it shipped with a VH8C that has a Bushnell Holosite of that age. Its what I hope to hunt with this fall.
Have seen a nice sized black bear in the area last fall. Be a shame to restrict this gun to Colt SSA level loads.
The holster was made for me by Mernickle Holsters. I had sent them the pic of a black bear and asked if they could carve it in and stain it.

Nice, had to check out the link, as Im a huge fan of leather rigs.
If youre a fan as well check out Frontier Leather Works http://frontierleatherworks.com/
They make some incredible rigs if you can get past the somewhat cluttered website.

Well I'm going to buck up and do my part to check out that web site.... what goes out the door is what matters most. Had not seen their work before, thanks for the tip.
I'm lucky enough that my wife shoots.... don't think I'll get in too much trouble if you guys end up costing me some cash.

Bethel is in the Western Mountains of Maine, little south of Bangor and only about 26 miles in from the New Hampshire line, along the banks of the Androscoggin River. We lived in Connecticut until we moved here in November 2007. Snow is so important to the local economy here, small vilage of about 2,400... but two ski resorts and plenty of snow mobiles make a big difference for what business earns. Locals get more shops and places to eat than would ever be here if it wasn't for them. Summer, we have two golf courses that pitch in.
When we moved here we wondered if we'd see a White Christmas... ha.... when the ground covers in about the first week of December, I won't see it again until sometime in March. But honestly, first two years here were something to see; but south of here in MA and CT has seen more the past 2 years.
So pleased with the decision to come here.... glad I can work from home which made it possible.

Welcome to DWF! Whereabouts in CT were you?
You may be the perfect New Member- First Post pictures of a rare DW, in custom leather, AND you sent me Serial Number info!
Thanks
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yes my 745 was manufactured in Norwich, and I had the cylinder, hammer and trigger laser coated... really do like it.
I was born in Bridgeport, CT -- grew up in Derby, CT until I went into the service in 1969 --- and lived in Naugatuck, CT from 1973 when I got out, until moving to Maine in 2007.
I'll try to post a few more pics here, if they don't come out well I'll reload and try again. I've been on other forums before but never saw such a common effort.... thanks for the welcome.
