Hello from Middletown!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

How does the lasering coloring/finish works? Im currently looking to refinish my DW .357 mag but still deciding which to go with.

Very nice 745, I also have a 745 (a Palmer model) and reload for it. I'm not too worried about the pressure on these DWs, they are very strong. In fact my Sierra reloading software says "Ruger, Colt, Dan Wesson, Freedom Arms" for the same reloading charts.
and for the 240 grain hollow points. This is just general stuff, make sure you check your books!!! BTW, I have hunted Bear in Maine in the old Bowater logging property now the Great Northern Woods near Moosehead Lake. Also my son got a Moose cow tag about 5 years ago for Presque Isle area, that was fun too!!! We love MAINE! Put in for the Moose Lottery every year, I think my wife and I each have 9 preference points.

Steve, I worked in Meriden at a Data Center on Deerfield Lane; and use to go over to Cubetta's Field & Stream in Middlefield which I believe was the town next to you.
The laser coating on this 745 as I recall... is the same treatment given compressor blades on a jet engine. There are different ways to laser coat and with different materials.... so if your getting a refinish job for your Dan, I couldn't expect it to be quite the same as was done on mine. Mine, I like it and it seems to clean easier. If I had my choice and was going to refinish.... I'm very fond of Robar's NP3 Plus for rugged wear.
Appreciate the info on reloading --- I've been pleased with Sierra JHC's for deer in my .44 mag "BLEEP"....
My "BLEEP" is scoped and was worked over by Magnaport several years ago... a picture of it is in the section for other sinners on this site.

Yes, I used to use Sierra exclusive until they became unreliable. What I mean by that is they are not producing all their product lines. They are only producing the product lines that seem to be used the most i.e. 45, 9mm, 308. So, you have a hard time acquiring for example 44 cal. and I like consistency. I shy away from Hornady because their jackets are too thin and if you hit bone, the bullet seems to explode. Not what I want. Nosler is my next choice, however they don't fly as good as Sierra in my experience. It's always a give and take.

Cubeta's in now New England Stream and Field, I was there last week and their inventory is so low I'm thinking they may be going out of business soon.
