Hey everyone new here to the forum and to Dan Wesson revolvers.  In fact I had never even seen one until about a month ago at one of my local shops after doing a little research I put it on lay away and should be getting it this week if all goes well.

Anyway the gun I have on layaway is a Monson Model 15 or 15-2 I am not really sure how to tell the difference yet.  It is a .357 with a 6 inch heavy barrel, sadly no other barrels. It has a few wear marks in the finish sadly so it is not the prettiest but heck I was looking for a .357 and the Wesson just kind of spoke to me I guess.

Thanks Blacktop I will post pics as soon as I get it home.  I am kinda thinking of adding a EWK 6 inch extra heavy barrel, and swapping over to the Gripper grips from the mammoth sized wood grip that is on it.  I am also trying to decide if I want to keep it blued or maybe considering that it is slightly cosmetically challenged of either having it parkerized or applying Duracoat...I know it would go completely against the style of the gun but I think it could work...

welcomefrom Indiana.  Good to have you at the dwf-sign.  You might consider sending you gun to Dan Wesson for refinishing.  I find there work excellent and the cost reasonable.  I also hear good things from one of our members but I have not had a chance to send work his way.  R S

Actually the one picture of a parkerized Dan Wesson 15 I found I believe they said was sent to Dan Wesson to have the finish done. I think that was on one of the AR forums. And honestly I would kind of like to do the finish myself and either of those would blend better with my other firearms. I have kind of become the family gunsmith, basicly if it needs work or built I end up with the job. At least they pay me well I have gotten a rifle for one job and for a current one we (my fiance and myself) got a 59 Buick Invicta.

welcomeaboard!

If your gun has a heavy barrel, it's a 15-2 & not a 15. Looking forward to somecool-pics when you get it home.laugh

I have already been in contact with Erik about an extra heavy barrel and the six inchers I think should be available here shortly so I hope to get one. I like that vented one in your pic Dave was that a special order?

I am really torn on if I want to do a fiber optic front sight or not. I know I love the one on my turkey gun.
