This looks like a great site for DW info. I'm in Lawrenceville, GA. and am retired. I'm an avid gun carrier and have a few handguns. My two DW revolvers are my favorites. One is a model 15-2 with the vent thingy on top and six inch barrel. I purchased it new in 1982. It's my most favorite and accurate handgun. It still looks like new. The other is a model 14-2 (4 inch barrel) that I inherited from my dad in 2004. I've used other revolvers over the years, however, once I got ahold of my first DW, none of the others can compare. Maybe I'll post some pix if I can find out how to.
Take Care

I love the guns, but I'm diggin' the black basket weave holster!Welcome!
Me too, that is way cool. A Dan in that thing with a black gripper would look awesome!

if you find one...what's your plan?

I've got a pair of brothers to your 14 right here...
Thanks for the clarification Charger. It is actually stamped with "1961 Mod 14-S". Your pair look sharp. Makes me want another one to match. I wouldn't mind getting mine re-blued but it has sentimental value the way it is. I had to take it away from my Dad (who gave me my first rifle and revolver) due to advanced Alzheimer’s. Broke my heart.
PS: My brother custom made the holster for me. He's an absolute gun fanatic. He lives in California. Go figure.

That's too bad, for sure. At least you were able to keep it in the family, many of us aren't as lucky in that regard.
Also, you may notice an edit in my post above regarding the model, these guns are simply a model 14. That's what I get for posting before coffee! Model 14-1's have the rear sight milled into the frame, I hope I didn't confuse you.

I've never really much cared to identify my guns too much, however, my Dans are special to me. From what I have gathered so far, Dan Wesson made identifying his guns somewhat complicated. Maybe the other folks do too, but like I said, I never really checked into my other guns. You have enlightened me a lot already. My gun appears to be exactly like your beauties (except not as shiny) and my rear sight looks like it can be adjusted with a sight pusher, so I can just call it a model 14, right? Which came first; the 14 or the 14-1?
