Howdy,
I'm a long time lurker on the forum and just thought I'd introduce myself. The first firearm I ever purchased, 28 years ago, was a DW 715 VH6 and it remains my favorite revolver and the most accurate. I'm an active duty Marine and firearms collector and researcher. Mostly Stevens 520/620 shotguns but some military firearms as well. I blog and answer history and value questions on the Gun Values Board and several other forums. Here are pictures of my DWs, my original 715, a 744 which I believe is a Monson gun assembled in Palmer (the 6" is the original barrel), and a 15-2 snubby with detective grips.

Glad you are not lurking anymore. Nice stable of Dans. That Monson frame and Palmer shroud dates the gun to 1991. That happened a lot that year. Who needs the name twice anyway.

Thanks for the kind welcome! Also thanks for the confirmation on the age of the 744. I've estimated 1983 for the 15-2 and 1986 for the 715, if off please correct me. Looking forward to learning more and sharing with the DW community.

Welcome to the forum. The grain on those .44 grips look exceptionally nice compared to the normal we see.
