Very nice and I do like the Barney on her! Welcome to this place!
you have a M15-2 8" Heavy Vent or HV, did it come with a case? You have the makings of a very fine Pistol Pac. If you need great wrenchs or custom grips see banners on the right hand side bar. LB and EKW will fix you up!

The rears sights changed so much over the years seems almost every one I own something is a little different, not sure what year the non recessed cylinder took place. look to the right and you maybe able to find yr it was produced. You can find pacs and some of the guys have built them. The esbay and gunbroker both have them listed almost weekly.

what is missing is the case, buckle and patch,It came with the yellow cloth.Did you notice the black rear sight and the non recessed cylinder.
As DWA stated, the correct case can often be found on Egouge, being sold by a long time professional 'Pac breaker'. The fully recessed cylinder design started somewhere during the time that the "SD" s/n roll marks first appeared on the frames…. somewhere in the mid ~ late late 80's, followed by the "357" designation ahead of the s/n in the very late 80's. The rear sight was probably an optional order item, they had a few different ones available in the late Monson years. I've that seen that sight style on other 15-2's and have some on my Monson large frame guns & really like it.
aboard & thanks for showing off your 15-2 HV Pistol Pac.
*EDIT* Here is an excellent comparison shot posted by Member "NVGdude" a while back. The fully recessed cylinder design started in the mid-80's in the Monson plant & was carried through as regular production into the Palmer plant. This is only relevant to small frame guns, as far as I know today.

Correct barrel shroud designation for that is VH-Vent Heavy. That is one of the most distinctive barney contrasts I've seen in a long time.
Welcome to DWF.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Warm welcome to That is a nice 15-2. I also have one near yours in age. I think the Barney effect is kinda neat. Indy was my home back in 1985 and 1986, really liked living there til a job change forced me away. Still have shooting friends who live there, and the best Chicago-style pizza anywhere is right there...worth driving 2 hours to get one.
