Just got my first dan wesson tradded my ruger super blackhawk and 60.00 for it. It's a model 44 with 6" barrel and it is ported. Not a compensater, but ports on either side of the rib.The barrel is drilled all round with small holes about 1/2" ahead of the ports. I'm 52 drive truck and plow snow for a municipality.I hunt, fish, tinker on guns, ride motor cycles and for 25 years was a heavy equipment field mechanic.

Hope to learn alot from you guys

Welcome to the forum!  The DW 44 is a great gun.  The weight of the gun soaks up the recoil and makes it a joy to shoot.  Since you have one with the ported barrel I would suggest not shooting lead bullets in it as it's a mess to clean!

Hope you enjoy the site!

Welcome Hayseed! This is the place to be if you have a DW. The .44 mag is especially a joy to shoot and very accurate.

As you probably have seen, Post Pics, soooooooooo..... we love pics.

It may take some doing to figure out how to post them but we are a patient bunch...lol2.

Welcome aboard!!!

Yes, the DW .44/.445 are a pleasure to shoot. And can be done very accurately also.

Welcome and get them pics up we love to see DW's.  Look around and find a non ported barrel as to shoot what ever want!  The 44 is a wonder wheel gun as easy on the hands and what a trigger.    Nice score!

Welcome hayseed! You'll learn a lot around here, especially, how to spend your money on more Dan Wessons.
