I have a 445 supermag with 8 and 9 inch barrels
One barrel shroud is marked 44 RHINO
Was that a proprietary cartridge at the time?
Also I've heard that only 25 445 supers were produced. How true is that and if it's a lie, how many do you guys really think we're produced in the 80s?

I believe your gun is one of the prototypes for the 445. The serial number is most likely that of a 40. They made the Rhino out of a 357 Maximum supermag. Does your serial number start with an E? I'm sure the experts here will weigh in on your Rhino. Did you buy it the last year? I know there was one for sale on several sites. Anyway welcome to the forum!
The 25 Supermags were the 414 Palmer made stainless guns. When DW was sold and moved to Norwich, NY there were more stainless and blue 414 made. 445s and 7445s were made in the Monson, Palmer and Norwich periods and there are thousands of them. All 445s made in the 80s were Monson roll mark, but all large frame and Supermags were made in Palmer. There were many made.
