Hey all! Picked up a new to me DWA model 15-2 (circa 1975) that i'm looking to fix up. Primary issue right now is light strikes in double action. Hammer is hitting the frame- badly- so I've gotta shim, replace the trigger or replace the pivot-or some combo of those three. Any ideas about where to get shims for these- or if the ones for the S&W fits? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance everyone.

dwf-welcome to the dwf

Obviously the light strikes are due to the action interference. Have you had it apart to inspect the internals ?

Need pics...  Assuming a PO didn't assemble something correctly- I haven't see frame interference before. I agree with Stinger- disassemble to get a better idea of what's going on.

I've had the side plate off to check everything over but I have not actually pulled any parts out. I will say that when the hammer is mid stroke - between all the way back and all the way seated - it has a good wobble to it.

When the side plate is installed correctly, there shouldn't be any room for side to side motion. Maybe the screw(s) aren't original and a bit too long, or something else is not allowing the plate to be installed flush against the frame? Hard to see from the middle pic but it seems like there's a bit of metal remaining on the frame, below the hammer ding, that may not be allowing to side plate to fully seat

Rwsem, good theory, but in this particular case unfortunately that's not it. That side plate fits excellently. It's not at all raised anywhere so i'm still trying to figure it out.
