Hey follks, my name is Joe. I as of last night am a D-W owner. I bought a 357 off a friend of a friend. I would put it at 90% or better condition. The blueing is fantastic, almost like a black chrome. It has a little cylinder ring on it, but not to bad. Its a Monson MA. model, with serial number 373***, a Dan Wesson Arms model. Assume its a 15-2. It came equipped with a 2 1/2 in barrel installed, a 5" and an 8" with redfield 4x scope on it.

I do have a couple questions,

1, where can i get the wooden grip like i see in some of your sig pics with the dw logo?

2, the 8" barrel shroud is not slotted on top like the smaller ones and also has the bottom lug run the full length of the shroud. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance guys. I will get pics up soon.

Welcomeaboard & congrats on your score!Laugh

You can find extra grips very often on the gun auction sites (Gun Broker, etc.), Ebay, or you can still buy them direct from DW...there's info in the "FAQ's" section to the right, under "where can I order parts".

The 8" shroud you're describing is a "heavy non-slotted shroud", which seems to be fairly rare, and I would bet is original to the gun. The slotted ones were probably purchased separately at a later date.

Congratulations on your purchase!

That 8" non-vent heavy shroud may be rather rare!

Welcometo the DWF Sign. A 15-2 is the cornerstone of DW's. Also if the barrel and shroud is actually a 5" that is quite rare in it's self.

Joe,  Welcome to DWF. CT is not so big, so mox and I are probably your "neighbors", I'm in Middletown. Your screen name seems a little familiar, are you on any other Forums with that screen name?.

Steve

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Joe,

Welcome to the DWF Sign !  I believe I can help you with a wooden grip as I have a "few" in the drawer. It's time for me to make a donation to a fellow DW brother.  I'll PM you with the details.

Ed, you have a pm returned. Thanks for the generous offer.

Also, thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I think its pretty cool if that barrel is rare, it is almost new condidion. I have it with me today so i will post some pics as soon as i get it inside. I am at work and will go out and get it from the car. I gotta order a tool, and looking to get a few more barrels, I'd like to get a few longer ones to complete the line up.

Arfcom and opencarry, I knew  had seen stacks04 "B4". Are you in CCDL? Rich (mox-ct) has 100 yards of range in Salem, maybe we can all get together this summer, while I still have temporary custody of Thumper.
