New DW owner here, I just bought my first DW yesterday at a show and I've been trying to figure out what model it is and really just learn everything I can about it. I took it to a friend's house after the show to test fire it and I have to say I'm in love with it already. From all the helpful info on here I believe what I have is a model 14, but I figured I'd get an opinion from someone who knows these guns better than myself. It's a 357 with a 2 1/2" porkchop barrel shroud, made in Monson, S/N 41320. I'll attach some pics, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you have a model 14-1 that was most likely made in 1974.
How did you come to that conclusion, with only that one side of the revolver shown? The serial number registry lists a 3727x S/N Model 14 in 1974, but nothing for a 14-1.
to the Tim !
Here's some pics of the other side, thanks everyone for the info and the welcome to the forums.
You all are very knowledgeable. I have but a little to add. The model 14 became the 14-1 (unofficially) around ser. nu. 25,000. The latch was improved as Stinger mentioned and the rear sight became a cut in the frame. The 14s and 15s have a 1/4" missing from the barrel. Yours is only 21/4".
The model 14 was introduced in 1971. The 14-1 was made shortly after, probably in 1972. The registry is only approximate based on sales receipt, letter, etc. It is not when they were made or even shipped. In fact, the restyled and gorgeous 15-2 was made starting in 1974. I have long suspected that Dan Wesson sold the remaining inventory of porkchops to High Standard in order to facilitate the roll out of the -2s. The Sentinels Mark II and III were introduced in 1974. They cataloged the 3 barrel lengths but I guess Dan Wesson never sold them any. That is why HS roll marked BAs are extremely rare.
The missing 1/4" of barrel was restored on the -2s. I am sure most of the members already knew all this. and beware
