Welcome to DWF, 744 is a pretty good way to start your DW Addiction.
I know a guy that was very focused on getting a 744, a couple of us convinced him to consider a 741, and he LOVES it.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Good stuff! My limited knowledge tells me that's a .41 cal, no? My father moved to NM a couple months ago and left me the family gun collection. A few winchester model 12's, an 1872, but he was forced by my grandmother to sell the ruger redhawk in .44. So now I have all this .44 and 45-70 ammo and no arms to make them sing. The first pistol I ever shot was a super blackhawk at 8 years old. Ive also inherited all the .44 reloading equipment. This will be my first .44 and foray into reloading. I like smiths, rugers, etc, but something about the DW beckons me. I like the look after 45 years, barrel interchangability, and fit and finish. Add to that the prestige of DW ownerahip and im sold. Like a kid at christmas.
