Thanks for the wealth of info here! I'm a DW novice even though I've owned my .22 since the early 80's. Was able to identify my spare smooth walnut grips as factory Target and Michigan models and I see I'm not alone with the occasional "sticky" casing problem. Lots to learn...

Thanks for the introduction. I owned a Model 22 in the past, sold it off when I realized that I was shooting it single action all the time. Case sticking is likely due to some buildup in the chambers, .22 lr can be a little dirty. Chuck up a .22lr bronze brush in an electric drill, dip it in bore cleaner, and clean them out good. GO SLOW with a very wet brush and you should be Good To Go.
And here is a DW specific tip: be careful about keeping the cylinder latch and the notch it locks into clean and free of residue. Even if the cylinder seems to be latching OK, you may not be getting the best possible lock up.
Welcome to DWF, Have Fun
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
