Hello,
I am a new Dan Wesson owner. It is a 357 magnum with a 2 1/2 barrel. It is a nice looking pistol with adjustable sights. However I did not get any manual or barrel wrench. I was needing some information on what model it is. I took it out to shoot it this afternoon and I was hitting the target about 4 inches high I had to turn the sight all the way down to the frame and I am still hitting high at 7 yrds... Now I was wondering on my Smith&Wesson If I am hitting high I can raise the back sight up to lower point of impact. But on this one I have to lower the rear sight to get close to where I am aiming but the point of impact is still higher than my aim point. Any suggestions ? I can provide serial number if needed.. It appears to be a older model cause the front sight has a push pin on side under front sight not the front of barrel. Thanks

A picture would be very helpful in this case. It sounds like that particular gun has a sight (front or rear) that maybe didn't come as OEM? It could be the shroud is from a different model gun, or maybe be you just need a taller front sight blade for that close in work; no worries though, Erick solved that problem with several front sights. Check out the right side margin for EWK Arms.
Oh- and Welcome.

Jeff-
The problem is very clear, you have a 14-2 (fixed rear sight) Barrel Assembly on a 15-2, definitely not the Factory Original. The easiest resolution for this is to purchase a 15-2 B/A (with the interchangeable front sight) and sell the 14-2 B/A. You are very likely never going to resolve your POA/POI issue any other way.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve,
It has a adjustable rear sight.... but a small front sight I had a Dan Wesson before this one with the 4 barrel package .... Traded it for a AR 15 and ran across this one here... it is the same size frame as the model 15-2 I had ... but this one has a smaller grip and smaller front sight... Also there is a difference I notice the 15-2 had a screw at front of barrel to change the sight post.. This one pictured has a pin on the side of sight... thanks for reply
