Hello everybody!
This past weekend, I picked up my first revolver, as well as my first Dan Wesson. I was referred to this site from another forum I belong to, so I figured I'd join.
I am 23 years old, been shooting now for a couple years, and been shooting handguns (my favorite thing to shoot) for the past year or so. Have a few other handguns, but all are semi's.
Anyways, here's some pics of my new revolver. It's a Palmer Mass gun. It's a 715-FB from what I can tell, with a 3" barrel, chambered in 357 Magnum. I cannot wait to shoot it. The thing locks up perfectly and the trigger is smooth as silk with a nice, crisp break. I am super happy with the gun.

to the from PA. It lloks like you may have had a good coach that guided you to our little place on the web. You satisfied the need for right away. That is a fine looking FB you have there. Glad you shared a bit about yourself and dropped in.

Thanks you very much guys for the warm welcome.
This gun is also the key to getting me into reloading. I do not reload as of yet, but would like to start with this gun, as 38 / 357 is super easy to load from what I hear. That, and the fact that this gun will mostly be a range gun, I want to load up some lighter loads for plinking and any new shooters who may want to try it.
I have also posted pics of it in the photo section as well.
The only plans I have for this gun is to get some nicer grips. I am not a fan of the Hogues to be honest, but the rest of the gun is amazing. I am looking into a set of the L.B. Custom "Shootist" grips, as I have smaller hands, and want a smaller grip in case I ever decide to carry the gun.
I look forward to being a part of this forum, and will drop by with a range report hopefully after the weekend.

Welcome from CT (yeah, I'm the guy from Arfcom).
LB Shootist is a great choice, especially for carry. I think DW made a great choice of 3" for the FB gun, a little easier to handle than a 2" and just as concealable.
Just a guess- NGX (since Hoffman's was closed)?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yes, it was at NGX. I pulled up at Hoff's and was like "wtf, why is this place empty, maybe they aren't open yet, then saw the sign and was like "ooohhhhhhh" LOL.
Looks like I'm gonna be testing mine out Thursday night. I'll post a range report.
I did find a set of NOS Pachmayr Presentation grips to use in the meantime until I can get my hands on a set of Shootist grips.

Was able to put some rounds through the gun Friday afternoon. Was shooing Walmart ammo, some Winchester White Box 38 Special's, 130 grain FMJ, 800 FPS loads, so nothing hot by any means.
Gun ran flawlessley. No issues with sticky cases, ejector worked perfect, recoil was very little, lock-up was perfect, DA and SA were nice and smooth, no issues at all. There was no indication of "shaving" the bullets, and the primers had nice, hard strikes, that were consistent across all rounds fired, so there seems to be no issues with the internals that I can tell.
And yes, I did keep the cases as I will be reloading them a little later.
Overall, I am super happy with the purchase.
I did get in the Pachmayr Presentation grip for it Friday evening. Feels a million times more comfortable than the Hogue and looks allot nicer too. Will be getting pics up of it soon.
I also contacted Dan Wesson and I was able to get a factory manual, printed up on the glossy paper rather than printing out my own copy from a PDF. They sent it to me free of charge.

Whenever you shoot .38 in a .357, ALWAYS scrub chambers thoroughly after every shooting session. Regular use of .38 in a .357 without really cleaning out the chambers can cause a carbon buildup that makes chambering .357 challenging, which can then turn into a major clean up project.

Thanks for the advice, I only shot 30 rounds through the gun, but I was sure to give the chambers extra attention to prevent the carbon build-up.
I also was able to install the Pachmayr grip, and took a pic this morning. The grip feels SOOOOO much better than the Hogue. Here it is:

I never cared for the Presentation grip, but I think I only ever had a Large one, and I like a smaller grip.
When we get together I'll bring along a gun with a Gripper so you can try it out.
