Hi guys,
I have been shooting semiauto pistols for a couple of years now and I have borrowed a Colt Phyton and a 686 a few times on the range. But now is the time that I would like to purchase my first revolver, I was looking at a local dealer who has this used 715 for sale, there is no history to his used guns so I don't know anything but what can be seen in the pictures on his sales add:
Can you from the pictures guesstimate the ago of this 715? Also is there some specific areas on these guns I should inspect thoroughly before committing to buy the gun?
Also are spare parts available for this model?
When I held this gun in the shop I did notice that the groove where the ejector rod rests was a bit roughly machined, is that normal for these guns?

I definitely recommend the Dan Wesson as a first revolver. That is a nice looking example. I can't read the serial number so age is hard to determine; but the fixed barrel models tend to be newer/younger. Someone else here can probably give a better estimate. Definitely use the link provided to learn how to check out the function of the gun.
The fixed barrel models are exactly like other Dan Wessons except for the ability to change to different length barrels. There are also fewer of them out there and that may affect value some day. You won't need to purchase a barrel tool or cylinder gap gauge, so that is a small savings.
How much is the selller asking for the gun?

Thank you for the replies, I will definitely use the link to go over the function of the gun.
I am not sure if it has detachable barrel or not, but actually it is not really important as I live in Denmark and we are not allowed to register more than a quite limited number of firearms (and additional barrels will count on my permit as separate guns!) so I would rather have additional guns than barrels 🙂
The seller is asking 900$ and it is a gunshop, so it comes with a bit of warranty included in the price

That is definitely a fixed barrel, which as 'snake-eye' indicated, due to it being produced in lower numbers, will increase its value over the more common removable barrel models. $900 is a little high, but may be totally appropriate for Denmark.
Everything is more expensive in Denmark, for comparison a brand new glock 17 costs 1000$ here...

If a new Glock costs a thousand the Dan is a bargain. Manurhin are nice but expensive here. Your gun was made between 1991 and 1995. You will love it.
Great! I hope it will pass my inspection (as per the link provided) then I will return with more questions once I own the gun 🙂
