Well hello! From MD!
I came across this site a few weeks back, when I was pondering which .357 was the one for me. I already had a 1911, but I had a special place for wheelguns, and I'd always been hooked on the .357
I spent days at local gun shops, online browsing through gunbroker, and I almost had a S&W down to a reasonable price, but then I stumbled on a nicely worn Monson 15!
It was the best implulse buy I've ever made, hands down! I saw it and just had to have it for my own. I ran a quick check on her, and put the $$ down without even knowing what a Dan Wesson was!
I researched on the gun after I purchased it, and had a week in MD to wait before it was "mine". Glad I did my research!
I just finished putting 200 rounds of .357 and 38 special through it, and i'll be damned if I didn't score higher than I shoot with my .45!
Can't wait to pick through the minds here and share my already growing love for an American classic!

67fastback to the . Great start to the wheel gun thing. Now lets see, I know there's something I need to say, oh yeah, . Is it blue or stainless? Whats the barrel length and type. Grips, what kind? We are always curious about that stuff.
I'll let someone else ask some more questions and welcome again!

aboard, that's a great looking 15-2 you landed there!
Assuming that at least one of those barrels is original to the gun, the serial number you have is one of the first 15-2's made after the interchangeable front sight went into production. The latest pinned front sight I've found so far is #64599. The earliest interchangeable number I've got on my list is #71530. Obviously there's still a few thousand numbers in between, but yours is really close to the front of the "interchangeable" pack, I'm thinkin'.
Also, it's not often we see non-medallion zebra grips, that's pretty unique.
Thanks for sharing your

Looks like you did really well with your purchase. As CF pointed out the zebrawood grips are unique since they don't have the DW emblem.
Is that grip a DW item? I have one just like it that I got for a very reasonable price on Ebay some time ago, the wood on mine is very nicely grained with the same checkering. I assumed it was some kind of aftermarket grip.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
