hey, im from Arkansas and just picked up an old dan wesson in a trade, usually im a glock guy but this DW seems pretty cool. its old has a 5 digit serial number 43xxx, pork chops and adjustable rear sights. maybe a model 15? it has just a W on the handle also. gun feels very tight and seems to function well, not a whole lot of wear for something this old, im about the same age and i have alot more wear on me.lol

Welcome to DWF, here is a quick history lesson on DW revolvers
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Looks like a good shooter you have there!
You have a 15-1 wearing original Powerwood grips. This model was made for a short time, maybe 18 months or so, and very possibly less, just before they changed to the straight barrel shroud on the more common 15-2 model in mid-to-late '75.
Congrats on landing your first DW, hopefully you like yours as much as I do mine!
