New member checking in from Knoxville, TN. Not new to guns, but got my first Dan Wesson at a pawn shop. Not sure he knew what he had because he sold me a near mint (easily 95-98%) model 15-2V 6" (I dated it by serial number back to about 1984) for $365. I wasn't about to walk out of the shop and allow some other lucky S.O.B. to get my deal of the month, so I sent my wife to the cash machine while I guarded it! Anyway, I feel like I got an awesome deal on the gun but then everyone started asking me if I had the other barrels. "Other barrels?" So off to gun broker I went and hope that I didn't overpay, but found the 4" and 2" barrels in the matching vented ribbed form for another $365. So now I'm a little over $700 into the gun and I also am working out a deal to get an original case (with new cloth on the inside) for an additional $135. Anyway, hopefully as I said I didn't overpay, but after shooting it today at the range, I was so happy with the gun that I'm not sure the cost is going to change my opinion that this is one FINE revolver. BTW: anyone got a line on an 8" vented bright blue barrel? I'd like to complete the pack, since I'm in this far, I guess.

Welcome to the forum, and glad you like your new Dan. In my opinion what you paid is a good price for a near mint Dan any day. 8" barrels show up from time to time on Gunbroker, just keep an eye out, or somebody might offer one up on here.
Just be aware, one Dan Wesson leads to another, they are kind of addicting that way!

You sure jumped in with both feet, I'd say! Welcome to DWF. I think your pricing is pretty good. Barrel assemblies are also frequently found on Guns America.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome from Central Florida. You have found Dan Wesson central. I am a new revolver owner and new site member as well. I am in AC and seven days a week working has kept me from the range. It has not kept me from adding a model 22 already. (what a shame, I have to test two out, dang it all)
lonwolf is right about the illness thing, I'm afraid.....
Sounds like you got a great deal as I have been sort of pricing them latley..
oops Congrats I'm too new to put the pics symbol yet so..

Welcome! Great story on what is sure to be a new love-affiar with the DW. I will be the lone desenter to say that building a oack one by one is the momre expensive way to go, but they ain't makin' them anymore so we gotta do what we gotta do!
Other "fun" things to consider:
I would buy spare/replacement barrel nuts from EWK, plus a barrel wrench. If yours is the plastic wrench they tend to crack/break certainly with age. I like to use the EWK nuts as it just saves wear and tear on the originals. Also if your a sure 'nuf shooter you might find it fun to note the 15-2 barrels are 1/16 twist and EWK offers 1/12 twist which may be better suited to heavy slow moving .38 wadcutters say in 158gr. ( about 99% of what I shoot). Also if you find "just the shroud" at a good price grab it and get a barrel from EWK as well.
LB can make you a custom one off grip.. which guarantess your gun is one of a kind. I have 3 of those.
We also have the original DW person responsible for that great blue finish. He can re-blue at an extremely good price.
Ok last one... I promise... EWK makes a great Fiber optic replacement sight.
Oh yes.. I have pretty bad.....

Wow, thanks everyone for the great welcome. I'm glad to hear that I didn't over pay, and I understand that it's going to cost me a bit to make the pistol pac complete, mostly because they don't make them anymore. I can't get over how awesome this gun shoots. I'm primarily a pistol shooter, but I have to admit, a feller could get used to shooting a revolver like this! Pics to follow when the new barrels come in the mail!
