What a great resource for Dan Wesson owners!
Which I am soon to be. A friend at my local pistol club mentioned that he was considering selling his "357" when I asked whether he was referring to his 'DW" I said that I was interested. I had put a few rounds through his DW 715 about 6 months prior and was impressed, so I wanted another look which I did last Monday.
75 rounds later and I was sold and so was his revolver. In our country we have to make application to the state authorities for a Permit To Acquire (PTA) which can take 10 days plus postage of the paper work and then the sale has to be completed by a "Dealer" in our case our Club Armourer. So I am waiting for the PTA to be approved at this point.
The revolver is nice and tight and has a 4 inch barrel no other bits and pieces and according to the paperwork is a model 715 H. Thanks to this forum I now realise that the barrel is a standard not a heavy (so thanks for that). I don't have the serial number at this point but will be interested to see a rough date of manufacture. My guess is that it has had a few owners even though the finish is in reasonable condition.
I have been impressed with the history of DW firearms and feel that I will be custodian of a real piece of history. I will now keep an eye out for other DW bits and pieces as they come onto the Australian market.
Once I have the 715 in my possession I will take some photos to the forum.
Thanks again.

Great to have you on the DWF! There are a few members from Australia on the forum although they don't check in too often. The best thing about the stainless is that they aren't too difficult to get scratches out of with some time and a 3M scotch pad. The top rib can be fixed too with 80# glass bead blast media.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
