Hello all. Just did a little horse trading and got a DW 357 with 2 1/2" bbl. I bought a new one with 4" bbl back in the 70s and loved it. I'm going to try and do a little work on this one and give t to my wife for her home defense gun. I'm AMAZED at how expensive parts or accessories have become! I need a barrel nut wrench and I'm looking at $75 - $120 for one. WoW! Does anyone have an alternative to the DW wrench? Also, this gun has a 293XXX serial #. Is there a chart or page with numbers available to find mfg. date ?  Thanks for any info and thanks for letting me be a part of it..

Welcome to DWF, thanks for visiting New Members first. 293xxx is a 1980 gun. Your best bet for a barrel wrench is from EWK Arms. If you can't find one of his, a Dan Wesson all steel (no plastic) one is a good second choice.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the DWF!  Looks like cir 1979.  There is a SN page in the Supporter's section...

dwf-welcomeback to the DW Family! You won't regret it and your wife surely will be happy. That's a smart way to start.worship
