This is my first Dan Wesson, that just left 10 days California gun jail. I always wanted to buy Dan Wesson, but somehow other guns got in the way. I should have bought Dan Wesson in the 80's or 90's they were much cheaper then, now it is hard to find them in California and because they are not on the DOJ roster prices are high and selection is limited.
These are two Dan Wessons Model 15-2, frames were factory engraved and nickel plated @ 1982 to the best of my LGS owner's memory, top is 8" barrel and bottom is 10" barrel. They are exactly 60 numbers apart, both were shipped in the same batch of @ 4-5 frames, possibly from Lew Horton. The bottom one belong to the LGS owner, the other one followed me home, I have a soft spot for strays. I will post better photos of mine later, this is just cell phone one taken in the gun store. Happy weekend to everyone.
Welcome to the forum. Pictures on the first post is a good sign. You have a pair of very special guns. Factory engraved dans are scarce and providence almost impossible to come by because of the BATF. The 10' H barrel assembly is particularly rare IMO. I hope you have a barrel tool to set the barrel cylinder gap. Read the "Average Joe Tuneup" for taking care of your dans. Ask here for any help and the stalwarts here will rush to help. First rule of dans is never over tighten the grip screw or barrel nut. Snug is good . Second rule is don't trust anyone to work on your gun unless they are Dan Wesson revolver nuts or the factory. All the nuts are on the forum and we will help you. Third rule is shoot but don't be careless. When ejecting cases keep the pointer and middle finger of your left hand through the frame to keep the cylinder from closing while the star is extended. Keep the gun tilted to the left. This prevents the nasty scratches most dans have on the sideplate and back of the recoil shield.

Thank you gentlemen.
Just to make it clear, the top revolver is mine, the bottom one belongs to the gun store owner. Only frames were factory engraved. He had his 10" barrel engraved to match factory engraving and then he nickel plated the barrel. He still has bound books from the 80's, but because it will take hours to go through them, it is low on priority list, but he may still provide info on when and how these guns came to the shop.

Welcome, those are some beautiful looking guns! You did well to get one in CA. I hope you told the LGS owner to call you if he ever wants to part with the other one.
If you decide to shoot it, post a range report, and on the pics!

Gotta love that 'ol hindsight thingy. It's happened to all of us, in one degree or another. Heck, DW prices were still fairly reasonable when I joined this site! And now, if you find one at 2009 prices, they are often considered I'm just glad I got in the game when I did!
aboard, and thanks for showing off your cool "new" DW!
