:)

I just recently purchased a DW model 15HV 357 mag from my brother.  I got the case and all for barrels. Cool

I need to get the 4inch barrel reblued though.  I haven't shot it yet but if it's anything like my Ruger Security Six them I'm sure I'll love it just as much.  I don't have any pics of my DW yet as I need to reblue one of them barrels.  I just won and ebay auction for some white and yellow sites to complete my kit.

Here's a few pics of my other  handguns. :)

Ruger Security Six .357mag with and without scope.

Cobra .380 I got to keep in the glove box.  It's real cheap made but if my truck gets broken into then I'm only out $125 instead of $400 for a sigma or taurus.  It shoots decent enough as you can tell from the target.

I'm gonna work on getting some picks of my DW 357 later on today.

Yes, it does say, "Made in the 200th year of our liberty" on the side. 🙂 Does that mean it's any more rare or valuable?

I'm gonna go take pics of my DW in just a min.  I'll take pics with the pachymier (sp?) and the two DW grips that I have. 🙂

I actually bought the gun a couple weeks ago from my brother for $350.  From what I've been seeing on gunbroker and gunsamerica it's worth quite a bit more than that.  He originally bought it in the early 80s.

Welcome to the DWF, starting out with a Pistol Pack is great. You might contact our member "hotbluer" who was the bluer for Dan Wesson, and comes very highly recommended by members here.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'm not sure how much more value it adds, I don't follow Ruger prices too closely. From what I've seen, most (if not all) Rugers from 1976 were roll marked with the "200th year" phrase. So the rarity is that you know the gun was only made in one year, but Security Sixes were very popular. You could ask that question over at the Ruger forum & probably get an accurate answer.

I'd like to get a few "200th" guns, simply because of the significance of the bicentennial year. Sort of the same reason why I'd like to get a 2nd Amendment DW commemorative one day.Smile

Thanks yall.  I'll definitely pm HotBluer when I'm ready to get my barrels redone.

Here are the pics I promised.  These aren't the glamor shot but they'll do for now.  The gun was pretty dirty from sitting in the case for probably 10 years with being opend.  This is just me whiping it down with rem-oil.

Welcome to the DWF Sign.  I also once sold a Security Six to afford a S&W 586.  That was before DW though.  Still have the 586.  glad to have you.
