Steve, welcome to the 
from another PA member. I recently acquired 2 IHMSA 44's,with V10 barrels. One blue and one stainless. They are s/n 2. In talking with one of IHMSA's original members I was told that some of these guns were donated to IHMSA to be auctioned off at the IHMSA Internationals annual match. I don't know who were the original owners or if in fact they were auctioned. They appear to have not been fired much, if at all.

I still haven't found out anything about the engraving. I sure hope it's not a case file or anything like that.
I ordered some goodies to go along with the gun. EWK barrel wrench, Weigand scope mount and rings, all sorts of needed reloading stuff, and a Simmons scope.
That should get me started with it and once I put some rounds downrange, I'll decide if i want to leave it alone or make some changes before deer season.
