I have a small frame .357 mag. VH8 (no pork chop) barrel. The serial # is 190xxx manufactured in Monson MA. USA. From looking at the serial # section of this site, the gun was probably manufactured in or about 1979 or '80. The medallion on the grip is DWA. The barrel has Dan Wesson Arms .357 magnum CTG. It has a red front sight and adjustable rear. It has just a little wear on the barrel (about an inch or so long) but other than that it is in exceptionaly good if not excellent condition. Does anyone know just what the model of this gun is? And would anyone have an idea as to its' aproximate worth? Sorry, have no means of including pics at this time.

Assuming it was manufactured 1979-1980 it's a model 15-2. The barrel shroud would be a VH8 configuration and if it has one of the original ramp sights, the red insert is just a plastic insert, not optical unless it was fitted with a later model sight. As far as value, it's all relative to what a prospective buyer is willing to pay. The best guides for pricing are the blue Book of Gun Values and the Standard Catalog of Firearms as well as previous sales prices.
