Got interested in a Marlin lever in 357 and after I found one it needed a wheel gun for companionship. In talking to the fine forum members at  Marlin a fellow DW owner [ I think known as Waldopepper here]  suggested look at DW . So I started my quest and found her at a local pawn yesterday. She looked awful lonely there so I brought her home.

She's a pretty blue model 15 Monson 6" half lug non vented - disassembled and cleaned her up [ except barrel - no wrench yet ] and shot her today.  Functions great. Sweet smooth trigger.  She does shoot high and to left. I can adjust for the left but my rear site will not drop anymore. Maybe we need a higher front ????

Anyway I'm happy with her and have gotten lots of good info  from this forum already.

Thanks to all and Waldo for all the great information

Tom - who now knows what a great gun a DW is

finnfur,

Welcome to the DWF Sign.  It is great to hear that Waldopepper referred you here.  I have one DW that shoots high also and have intended to try a higher front sight as well, just have not gotten around to it yet.  My rear sight is all the way down also.  That is always fun to have a matching lever action to compliment your revolver or vice-versa.  I have a Marlin .357 lever also and it is great fun.  We need some Cool Pics of the Dan when you get time, because as you'll learn.....

Yep - About 15-20 minutes from the lake. This will be retirement country. If the Obamany

ever turns around so I can sell the lowlands property LOL

Nice purchase!  I also have a 357 levergun and it makes a nice companion to the DW.

Very nice, and welcome to the site! Gotta love a combo handgun/lever-action set.

I came here to look at the pic of your gun to see what height your front sight currently was... but, nothing but a big red X 🙂

I can see it now--looks like a stock height 15-2 sight.  I didn't know they made anything higher than that one.

Yep $15 a pop. Its on the way. Give em the barrel length , distance shooting , current

sight height and how much shooting high and he can tell you  how high to raise sight .

I had it figured out and we both came up with the same height.

Dealt with Genny Dutcher Cust serv off mgr  and Keith Lawton Ops mgr at CZ. We had emails rolling all day. Best customer support/service I,ve ever dealt with. Extraordinaire.

Just FYI here is the current barrel pricing:

They are as follows...SS or blue
Vent Heavy barrel and shroud assemblies...
2.5" $190.00
4" $257.00
6" $304.00
8" $374.00
10" $433.00
Vent Light barrel and shroud assemblies...
4" $359.80
6" $425.60
8" $523.60
10" $606.20
Shipping is $9.00.

Yep, I have that sight height formula somewhere also--didn't know CZ/DW would make a custom height sight.

Welcome aboard, great to have you here. As you have found, the folks at CZ/DW are great to work with, if we could just get them to start building revolvers again Slap.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
