Well, I'm officialy started down the path of Dan Wesson ownership. I have lucked into two differet revolvers in the past two months.
The first being a complete 15-2V pistol pack that was in pretty amazing condition.
The second came from my local gun show here in Houston. A nice 6" 22LR revolver. I have ordered the barrel tool from EWK along with a new barrel just for kicks. The 22 is of course the lower pistol in the picture.
I did notice a slight issue with the 22 though. the shroud is not aligned to the frame perfectly. I will have to wait for the barrel tool to show up to really see what the issue is. I'm hoping that the hole in the frame was not drilled improperly.

Welcome! Chances are, the roll pin is missing off the 22. You'll be happy with Eric's stuff.Regards, Ron
Thanks
I actually hope a missing roll pin is the culprit. I found Eric's sight through this forum and ordered some spare parts so I have a roll pin if it's that easy.

Welcome, nice looking Dan Wesson's, Looks like the trigger stop screw is also missing on the 22.You officially now have

Yup, I have the bug. I had to pull out the 22 to look for the stop screw. It's there, but not in the frame like the 357. The screw is actually in the trigger. I haven't seen any other 22's besides mine, but I'm assuming that's normal.

Welcome to the forum from PA, you have picked up a very nice pair of Dans. I visited the Houston area last September, and managed to check out one gun shop, I think it was called Collectors Firearms or something. It was huge, and the variety they had took my breath away!

The overtravel screw in the trigger was something DW got away from in the -2 guns fairly early, but there is no certain year that this occurred, my best guess is early 1980's
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

What specifically is the area that appears to be out of alignment? Often the finishing on the front of the top strap is uneven causing the shroud to be off center. For example, the radius cuts on each side of the top strap are sometimes unequal in depth and length causing the shroud to appear to be off center. Or the top strap may have been excessively ground down on one side causing the shroud to appear twisted. I've seen both conditions numerous times.....check it out real closely.

It appears that the shroud itself is not aligned to the frame leading me to believe that either the roll pin is missing, or something was mis-drilled. I'm hoping my barrel tool shows up today so I can take this thing apart and see what the issue is. Here are a few pictures showing the issue.
From the top you can see that the rib is not centered.
I had to adjust this photo so you could see the lower lug alignment. It's definitely off. The front sight is not vertical when you sight down the pistol.
Here's a shot of the set screw in the trigger.

Realistically, you could remove the alignment pin and line the shroud up by eye. At least you could get it closer to looking correct that way. The barrel nut is what holds it all together, the roll pin is just for alignment which in the case of your revolver is fairly far off.

Lonwolf, that was way too easy of a solution. I pulled the pin and was able to tighten everything down. The shroud seems to be pretty tight and won't rotate by hand, so I would call that a success. Gotta love the KISS principle. Thanks!
