Welcome to the forum from the Cheesehead from Wisconsin. Include a picture if you can so we can see your new Dan.
Here she is. Does have some blueing wear but everything locks up tight and trigger feels pretty good. Sort of similar to a GP100 but with a shorter stroke. I'm now searching for a set of wood grips (rubber on revolvers is just blasphemy), and hope to find a barrel or two. If it matters to anyone serial number is 2319X.

Thanks guys. This is one accurate shooter.
The frame is impressive. The amount of steel on the top strap still blows me away. Wow. It reminds me of a Ruger Super Redhawk. The cylinder is definitely K frame size because I just tried a few speedloaders and they work fine. I'm probably going to take the sideplate off this week and look at the internals. Are they similar to Smith's?
Also quick question, I'm still learning and have been reading through threads here, but because this is a "pork chop" model does that mean that the newer barrels won't mate to the frame? I saw that EWK sells this barrel adapter (link below). Will I need to get one to mate barrels?

Correct, newer shrouds will not fit, so you will need the EWK adapter to mount them.

WAY simpler, Good stuff/info on gunsmith thread.
SIZE DOES MATTER

THIS will help you figure out what is going on inside your DW. And not really similar to a Smith
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

That's some great information Steve. Thanks for sharing. It was a lot easier than a Smith. I just removed the side plate and it looks a bit dirty inside. I plan on spending the afternoon with some solvent and getting all the internal parts nice and clean again.

Welcome to the forum. You have one of the sweetest Revolvers made IMHO. The model you have is the short action hammer stroke model. Later Dans have a slightly longer hammer stroke. If you put in Wolff Springs you will be amazed.
It sure does! I noticed a trigger stop on the rear of the trigger. Was that a common feature on Dan Wesson's? I was able to adjust it with the proper hex tool and got it to an even slightly shorter stroke.
Might have to pass on the Wolff Springs. I've messed around with them in a few of my Smith's and Ruger's and almost always end up with light strikes.
