I just bought my first DW a week ago, a .357 Magnum with a 2" & 6" barrel -- used.
This forum helped me identify it as a 15-2 2V-6V and get extra information on changing barrels as there were no instructions inside the 2-piece Styrofoam and cardboard container that it came in.
I first learned about DWs on the Original CZ User Forum where there is a sub-board about DWs, but very little traffic or information there.
I am half-Czech and began collecting CZs after my first--a P-09 Duty in 9 mm. So far I am up to 11 of them, not counting the DW.
I only had ever had or shot one wheel gun before...a North American Arms Sidewinder in .22 magnum, so this DW is a first full-size for me as all my other guns are semi-automatics or bolt-actions.
Thank you for letting me join this forum!
ps. there was NO information in the box regarding the date of manufacture. So far from the serial number registry PDF file it looks like it was made in the late 70's - early 80's (S/N 157395).

Welcome to the DWF. Always good to see another member from The Lone Star State. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, you have landed in the land of all things Dan.
We really would like to see some of your 15-2.
Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself.

if you find one...what's your plan?

An update...
On my birthday last year I gifted myself a Dan Wesson Bruin Bronze in 10 mm.
Here is link to photos: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=82542.msg612038#top
Excellent quality and a joy to shoot.
Also, updating my previous information, I'm up to 14 CZs now with the most recent addition being a CZ24 (1937).
I've been checking online and at gun shows hoping to find other barrels (8" or 10"?) for my 15-2. No luck so far.

Finally back to the Forum, so an update:
I have added a CZ 1911A1 (manufactured on the DW equipment after acquisition by CZUSA) to the collection. It is very nice to shoot!
My CZs now total 33 (a good number of them are C&R).
And I have added TWO (2) more Czech guns (but not technically CZs)... FK 7.5 BRNO and an FK PSD (with 7.5 FK and 10mm barrels).
The FK guns quality is up there with DW.
I'm still looking for DW .44s and higher calibers when I go to gun shows.

I am aware of 3 sources of the 7.5 FK ammo: Luxury Firearms (1st US rep), FKBRNOUS (the manufacturer's US office) and an amount on Gunbroker.
There are THREE (3) types of ammo in this caliber:
F5: (not yet available in the US - don't have any) All copper monolithic wide meplat flat nose. This bullet is designed to create a wide and very deep permanent wound channel in addition to a very high dynamic shock effect. Accurate and effective for defense and medium game hunting up to 300 lbs to 100 yards, and dangerous game up to 500 lbs to 50 yards.
S95: Jacketed Hollow point made by Sierra bullets exclusively for FKB, it is designed to explode and shatter on impact. This bullet makes huge, but shallower wound channels than the other versions. Accurate and effective for defense and medium game hunting up to 100 lbs at 100 yards.
F9: All copper, monolithic nose discarding hollow point. The nose is designed to break off on impact, leaving a jagged 7mm meplat to create a large deep penetrating wound channel and a High Terminal Effect. Accurate and effective for defense and medium game hunting up to 200 lbs to 100 yards.
I have a fair amount of the last two. Since I'm on-assignment away from home and working long hours, I haven't had much time to go to the range with my collection. I have shot both 7.5 FKs and they are impressive.
Watch some of the videos online...it is basically a high-power rifle round out of a handgun. The technology of the gun itself makes if manageable as there is an internal cylindrical weight around the recoil spring and guide rod that reduces muzzle rise. The grip is designed flatter on the back because it is meant to be shot with the Weaver stance (instead of isosceles). I've let a select few handle and shoot it and they were impressed.
My biggest complaint is that there isn't a speed loader to work with the rounds and mags--the mag is too long front-to-back for an Uplula and the cartridge rim is too narrow for an ETS. I've written to a custom loader manufacturer and they said they "might" consider making one in the future.
