Hello to all I have a couple question for you guy`s and I hope you can help me out. a few days ago I was given this Dan Wesson which was handed to me buy a family member. all that was said is ENJOY .....!!!! Now I know what is labled on the box as MOD. 22 and from what i`ve read it is the Vent Rib full lug 6" barrel  Target model... it is beautiful Brand New 100% condition only fired maybe 25 times then cleaned and has been sitting in a safe for many years. it has the original wood grips and a set of Pachmayr grips on it... I was told it is the same frame as the 357 variant useing the same shroud ???  Serial number starts out 22B001  didn`t wanna give out the whole number but anyway would anyone know the value on this beautiful piece ??? it says Dan Wesson Arms Monson Mass. and the Blueing is like no other i`ve seen before it is a mirror finish anyway nuff said hope someone might be able to let me know more about this piece. I have read alot on the net pretty much the same stuff no values on it.... I wouldn`t mind finds some barrels for it as I wanna keep it. any and all info greatly appreciated.. I can`t believe how nice this gun is and given to me to boot !!!!

Protosniper, first let me say welcome to the DWF Sign

That was a very nice gift your received! Dan Wesson has been in and out of business several times and each time the AFT seizes all their records so we have little production data.  I believe that they started doing the serial numbers 22B around 1987/88.

The gun you describe in the box I could see easily hitting $550+ auction.

I actually have a 2.5" and 4" barrel assemblies that I'm willing to part with.  Let me know if you are interested.

Again welcome!

Congrats on your fortunate addition to the family!occasion

The .22 frame is indeed the same size as the .357 frames. In fact, you could actually slip on a .357 shroud...just not the barrel.Wink I agree about the DW bluing...it's usually deep enough to see your ancestors in.WOWBig Grin

BTW, I modified your e-mail address...we try to steer members away from posting e-mail links, in an effort to keep phishing scammers at bay.Wink PM's are usually best.

Welcome to the DWF.  That's a great gift.  Take care of it.  Something you may or may not know (I didn't when I got mine) is that 22's, at least DW 22's, are choosey about their ammo.  There's a link on the sight about 22 ammo.

To quote the giver: ENJOY!!

Just got back from shooting this beauty and I must say it is VERY accurate and fun to shoot. I shot several different Brands of ammo with it and pretty much all that I used shot nicely except for 1 Brand. below is what I had on hand so why not shoot it ??? I shot 10 meters with 6 shot groups of 1" to 1-1/2  on out to 30 meter in a 1-3/4 to 2" inch groups.... for some reason she didn`t like the Aguila`s AT ALL..  They shot but didn`t group at all I was lucky to keep a 10" Group at 30 meters they were all over the place. IMO the Remington and the Winchesters shot the best and the Subsonics pulling 3rd place out of what I had and those were nice to shoot.... Now all I need is the 2-1/2 inch and 4" barrel and im all set. So if anyone includeing Jody has these 2 they wanna part with PLEASE PM me and thanks for the DW Welcome.
