I bought a used DW, 6", blue, 357 revolver at a local gun show and would like to know more about them. I have owned several revolvers, Colt, S&W and cap&ball, and others over the years.
I am pleased with my Dan Wesson even if it is a little rough (80%). I also want to swap grips. I an looking at Hogue. I am impressed with the feel of the action. It is tight and smooth. I would like to understand the construction of a DW, but would never attempt to disassemble one.
My wife and I live on the Holston river just outside of Knoxville, Tn. I am learning to shoot carp with a bow. We have a garden and like to watch nature, birds and beast.

to the
. The DW 357 or 15-2 is the cornerstone of Dan Wesson. It is also the easiest of any to disassemble and reassemble so jump right in, no fear. Be warned they are addictive and
is lurking in the shadows. And of course I get to nail you with this.

to the
once more. LB has already given you our drill on the membership's craving for
. So I'll spoare you that again
. Glad to hear you like the feel of the Dan. Did you revolver come with a barrel tool and cylinder gauge? If not that would be an investment you should think about making to keep the revolver in its finest tuning. It will be necessary to have these items also if you ever wish to change barrels or remove yours for a thorough cleaning. Thanks for stopping by..

Congrats on your newest revolver arrival, you picked a great gun.
The 15-2 is one of the easiest revolvers on the planet to disassemble, much more so than any 'ol Colt or Smiff. Here's a nice tutorial that one of our members did, showing how to disassemble & also how to slick up the action a little, if you're so inclined...

Not much to say except Welcome to DWF. Don't hesitate to go insdie that 15-2, it's remarkably easy, and everyone always gets great results just from a little internal cleaning and lubrication, maybe replace the springs?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
