I am waiting delivery of my Model 15 which is stated to have a 3" barrel. From the research I have done so far there is no such animal. I suspect they may have measured from the frame, not the cylinder but will know for sure midweek. It has no accessories and so I am for sure in the market for a barrel wrench. I figure the allen wrenches and feeler gauge I have in the garage (somewhere). This is my first modern firearm, having built a kit 36 cal CVA Navy with a brass frame. I plan on practicing, a lot, for sport and other potentially usefull benefit such as home defense. Thought I had better get a start on this before the winds change in DC and the attempt is made to marginalize us further. I plan on participating in IDPA eventually and will also look for a 1911 compact, Kimber if the pocketbook allows, perhaps a Baby Eagle or CZ if not. Looking forward to learning more from all of the folks on board here.

Frank- Welcome to the site. You most likely are getting a 4", if someone just measures the shroud they can think it's a slightly long 3". Barrel tools from CZ/USA, they ship very quickly. If you start looking at the Banner Topics on the homepage, you'll find lots on info.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
