New to revolvers, this will be my first
I have recently bought a Scar17, after doing so I figured having an AR10 (POF-308) was unnecessary, so I decided to get a nice revolver as well as some much needed cash.
As you can see its got a super long barrel, I'd like to get a shorter one to have around (4" or 6" or both if priced right) and a nice matching case so that I can really show off at the range.
Maybe if anyone can point me in the right direction I can get some custom grips made. I'd like to match my 1911

Welcome to the Forum. You have what looks to be a pretty nice Model 44 VH (Vent Heavy) 10".
4" in .44 Mag is a little challenging to get, but possible. 6" is easier to find, normally on eBay or Gun Broker.
Grips to match your 1911 will be pretty tough.
A first revolver in .44 Mag is a big step, that's a pretty big Thumper, you are clearly a believer in "Peace Through Superior Firepower"
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome aboard. That's a nice looking 44. That big old 10" barrel is going to really help you stay on target. I've got a 741 ( stainless .41 mag) with an 8" barrel and it's tons of fun to shoot. Amazingly accurate.
Enjoy

Welcome to the forum from PA. The big 10" is a little heavy, but makes shooting 44 magnums nice and mild. You can also buy new barrel assemblies from the webstore at CZ/ Dan Wesson but they are not cheap.
